Iceland is a young country and the forces of nature are ever present. The interior of the country contains stunning contrasts; an arctic desert nestled in the mountains, an active volcano looming above bubbling hotsprings and thundering waterfalls.

Reykjavik

Reykjavik, which means "Smoky Bay", is the world's most northerly capital. Reykjavik is one of the cleanest cities in the world. Geothermal energy heats the city's buildings and one of the country's best salmon rivers runs right through the city.
